Social impacts of instruments and enhancing political legitimacy

Objectives

  • provide an interdisciplinary conceptual approach for the analysis of social impacts and legitimacy of policy instruments drawing insights from economic, sociological and legal, and ethics literature.
  • develop a methodological framework for analysis of social impacts for the instrument mixes in the case studies
  • support the application of these methodologies in the case studies
  • based on case study experiences, produce a set of best practice guidelines
