Dr. Jorge Vivan (1960-2013) was a pioneer in the science and practice of agroforestry and forest extractive systems in both the Amazon and Atlantic forest biomes in Brazil. Jorge was a dear colleague in the POLICYMIX project and will be sorely missed by us all.
